A Thief’s Wager (6)- People Work for me, I don’t work for them

Welcome back, thanks for joining me for the Weekend Writing Warrior blog hop. Every week, writers post 8-10 sentences of their work and offer it to the world to view. There’s lots of talent on this week’s list so visit and discover something new!

Last week left Chris facing Flann’s judging eyes. Below is a continuation of the scene.

Snippet:
“What were you stealing from the Cathedral?” Flann asked curtly.

“Just watching the show,” Chris lied.

“You’re not going to tell me who you’re working for?”

“I suppose it depends on whether you tell me who you’re working for.”

“I ain’t someone’s lackey!” he argued, slamming his fist on the armrest.

“People work for me, not the other way around,” he added taking a swing from a bottle.

“And those blue bloods happen to just stop by eh?” Few things in Lollardum scared Chris and Flann wasn’t one of them.

“Ack! They just trying to weasel into my territory.”

“I’m assuming they had a price?”

Hate to leave you with a cliff hanger but that’s it for now. Hope you all enjoy your week and I’ll see you next time.

  1. Hmm, the story about aristocrats trying to muscle in on Flann’s territory doesn’t seem too likely so what is he really up to?Intriguing…and I like Chris! Great snippet…
